- There are a number of tools that I recommend to all of my students. Although not required, these tools greatly assist every student. The first thing you’ll need is a guitar of course. If you are brand new and you do not have a guitar yet, I recommend the Rogue Rocketeer guitar pack from musiciansfriend.com.
- The second thing I recommend is a metronome. During rhythm and lead exercises, we will need a metronome to develop good timing and feel. The Korg Metronome is a digital metronome that will offer the most flexibility for our lessons at an affordable price.
- If you can afford it, I highly recommend purchasing an iPad. The iPad is an extremely useful tool for guitar students. You can use it as a metronome, chord chart, tab player, slow down songs, and many other excellent features.
- For an intermediately priced guitar, I recommend a standard Fender Telecaster.
- For an intermediate amp, I recommend the Fender Super Champ XD amp.
